The dictionary defines tribalism as a state of conforming to a particular tribe.. It's where one man favours his tribe over friends in general...
But lemme give you a different outlook, the Kenyan perspective.. It's a disease that has no cure.. A generational curse am sure.. A point of no return.. Second nature to none..
It traces back to our fore-fathers.. Enforced by political god-fathers.. Till when will we not realise that this won't take us any further...
How can you raise your hand towards your neighbour because your politician said so?
How do you chase our your wife because she's from another tribe?
These are the lives the 'common mwanainch' live while the 'wenye nchi' laugh and drink while throwing parties and making merry all night...
See we live in a country where one can not get even the lowest of all jobs unless he has an affiliation with a particular tribe..
We live in a country where the poor man will suffer blood, sweat and tears for a man who won't care whether your children will eat tonight..
See, we as a people need to join hands and eradicate this cancer that kills us from within..
Till when will we associate a particular tribe to thieves, murderers, etc..
Till when will I insist that am not my tribe.. Am the man within
But at this rate I don't see that happening, it's only untill a luo will gather more support in Central Kenya than a Kikuyu..
Or when a Kikuyu will be accepted as a brother in Kisumu..
But untill that comes to be, God Save us all...
